National Regulatory Authority for Municipal Services - NRAMS was founded in 2002 and is organized and operates as a public institution of national interest, with legal personality, subordinated to the Ministry of Administration and Interior.
Authority aims to regulate, monitor and control the activities of the central community services of public utility. NRAMS is under Law of municipal services of public utilities no. 51/2006 with subsequent amendments, the regulator responsible for the following municipal services of public utilities:
a) water supply;
b) sewerage and sewage treatment;
c) collection, sewerage disposal and pluvial water;
d) production, transmission, distribution and supply of thermal energy in centralized system;
e) settlements sanitation;
f) public lighting;
g) administration of public and private administrative-territorial units, and others;
h) local public transport.
